Bug Report Follow up Information

EZChangeLog makes it easy to communicate with those who report bugs to you. You can store the following information for each report:

Name
- the name of the person who reported the bug

E-mail Address
- the E-mail address of the person who reported the bug

Date E-mailed - the last date that you contacted this person

To make it easy for you to manage the names of people who frequently make contact with you about your project (such as BETA Team Members or regular contributors), EZChangeLog allows you to add their name and E-mail address to a list of Frequently Used Names and E-Mail Addresses.

After you click the Lookup E-Mail Address
button, highlight a entry in the list and click Select.

Then the data will be entered on the form automatically as shown here:

EZChangeLog makes it simple to send an E-mail to the person who reported it that reflects the current status.

Just select your options and then click the "Send an E-mail with the current status of this Bug Report
" button.

EZChangeLog will launch your default E-mail client and "prime" a message with information about the current status of the bug report as shown in this example:

You can type any personal message in the body and send the E-mail just as you would any other.

EZChangeLog will DateStamp the Date E-Mailed entry automatically or again you can use the calendar or DateStamp buttons.

ChangeLog Automation

EZChangeLog is all about automation and making it easy for you to manage your system with a minimal amount of work.

With just one click of the button below you can mark the bug report as Closed, set the Final Disposition to Fixed and send it to the ChangeLog as a new entry.

You can also opt to have the Bug Tracker ID included in the ChangeLog entry.

After you click the button you will see this screen:

EZChangeLog has "primed" the change log entry with information from the bug report!

The date added is the same as the date closed.

The change log entry type is set to "Fixed".

The Bug Tracker ID is included as well as the description of the bug from the report.

You can either use the entry "as is" or if your using the Professional Edition you could check the box to use an Alternate Description and enter a modified account of things there.

When you click the OK button you see this screen:

Then the change log entry is filed, then the bug report is marked as closed and fixed and the bug report form closes.
